Umut Gökbayrak has 20 years of hands on product development and management experience in the areas of real-time big data, digital transformation, web/mobile applications and analytics. He is the CTO of Hürriyet since November 2015.

Umut received his degree in computer science from Ege University and MBA education from Yeditepe University. He is an entrepreneur at heart and founded his first startup when he was 21 years old.

Besides his career as a co-founder of 6 startups with global achievements, he has 10 years of experience working for major IT, telecom, and financial institutions in Turkey.

Having experienced both the corporate and startup worlds during the course of his career, Umut seeks to apply his best learnings from both environments in his responsibilities of the technology & product development of sites Hürriyet.com.tr, BigPara, Mahmure, Hürriyet Emlak and Yenibiriş.
